The Design of American gold eagle coin
The obverse displays a creation of Augustus Saint Gaudens from 1905. Lady Liberty walks forward, determined, with the US Capitol in the background. With the sun behind her and 46 stars surrounding the image, she carries a torch and an olive branch, meaning light and peace for the upcoming years. The words engraved are the year of mintage and “LIBERTY” on the upper rim.
The reverse of the 2023 Gold Eagle stamps the 35th-anniversary new design, signed by Jennie Norris. The Heraldic Eagle got a left-profile close-up portrait in relief. The hooked beak and the deep gaze in the eagle’s eye are outstanding. The inscriptions on this side contain “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” and the two mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST” lined up. Beneath the Eagle’s depiction, discreetly placed, there are Jennie Norris’ initials and on the bottom, read “25 DOLLARS” and “1/2 OZ FINE GOLD,” standing for the face value, weight, and precious metal content.
Why invest in Gold Eagles?
Gold Eagles are the official gold coin of the USA. Besides the credibility of being a legal tender American coin, they are eligible for IRAs.
Each coin contains 1/2 oz of pure gold. In terms of investment, it is wise to maintain a diversified investment portfolio. Bullion tends to remain less prone to devaluation, so its acquisition may be a sensible investment option.
Gold Eagles also carry a lot of history through their designs. Because of that, collectors who appreciate some art and numismatics in coins may enjoy investing in items that carry more value than their intrinsic value. American gold eagle coin
